Everyone's talking about ‘Titane’ - the top prize winning film at Cannes
I didn’t hear much about the Cannes Film Festival this year but I guess with everything going on it wasn’t taking up the top spot in my news feed. Anyhoo, it looks like there’s an insane film that everyone is talking about and it’s received rave reviews at the festival. It’s such a masterpiece that it even won the Palme d'Or award, which is the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival for anyone that didn’t know.
The film in question is Julia Ducournau’s ‘Titane’, which is being called the most shocking film of 2021. Here’s the official synopsis:
Quote:Titane follows the metamorphosis of Alexia (played by Agathe Rousselle), who begins as a child with a titanium plate in their head, only to layer transform into a sex worker, the long-lost son of a fireman, and, on the side, a serial killer.
I mean I can’t even decipher the synopsis so fuck knows what hope I have with the film. According to the paragraph under the trailer the movie revolves around Alexia who gets hit by a car when she’s a kid and has a titanium plate implanted in her head that leads to her being sexually attracted to cars.
Check out the trailer:
Apparently at one point in the film Alexia actually has sex with a car so maybe don’t watch this film with your nan. There’s no UK release date yet but the film is receiving a lot of attention so I doubt it will be long. It’ll definitely be an interesting watch…
